Katie Canning
Katie has a wealth of experience in and is passionate about supporting children and young people in both the public and voluntary sector.
Katie is the communications lead for the Essex Violence and Vulnerability Unit (VVU), an organisation supporting children, young people, families and communities to live lives free from crime and exploitation. Katie’s background is working on children’s issues in the public and third sector, having worked in communications and marketing at national organisations including Oxfam, NSPCC and Barnardo’s and more recently leading the comms team who worked specifically on children’s social care, education and adult social care at Essex County Council.
Sport has always been a big part of Katie’s life, from participation while in education through to now enjoying being a spectator watching her children compete, and enjoying running, cycling and open water swimming in her spare time.
